Mahatma Gandhi

Mahatma Gandhi was born on 2 October 1869. He was a leader trying to lead India freedom from the British. People called him mahatma which means high-souled. He was born in Gujarat India and trained law at the inner temple in London. Gandhi famously lead a march which was called Dandi.  March which was 400 km long walk. He did this march because the Britishers were putting taxes on salt and Gandhi and other Indians didn't want that so they did this march. He was imprisoned form many years in both South Africa and India. Gandhi practiced nonviolence and truth in all situations.

Quotes from Mahatma Ghandhi
“Before the throne of the Almighty, man will be judged not by his acts but by his intentions. For God alone reads our hearts.”

"An eye for an eye only ends up making the whole world blind."

"We must be the change we wish to see."

"The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others."

"What difference does it make to the dead, the orphans, and the homeless, whether the mad destruction is wrought under the name of totalitarianism or the holy name of liberty and democracy?"
